Threats and vulnerabilities of places of worship
SHRINEs Project's Final Report
The report was carried out by Transcrime as part of the EU co-funded project SHRINEs (“Raising Awareness for the Protection of Places of Worship by Promoting Interfaith Dialogue on the Use of Advanced Technologies”). It provides a detailed analysis and comprehensive classification of the different types of threats and vulnerabilities that can potentially endanger places of worship. The proposed classification of threats – ranging from crime and terrorism to natural hazards – and vulnerabilities highlights the complex nature of the phenomenon and the need for a holistic approach to improving security. As a result, recommendations are proposed for the operators and managers of these places.
