FATA – From Awareness to Action

The final report of Project FATA – From awareness to action represents the first systematic analysis in Italy that studies the evolution and modi operandi of counterfeiting in online markets.

The study develops from the unprecedented collaboration between Crime&tech, spin-off company of Transcrime e Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and the Direzione Centrale della Polizia Criminale of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, with the support of Amazon.

The report is based on the analysis of multiple case studies at national and international level as well as interviews with stakeholders in the public and private sector, providing an analysis of the modi operandi and tools currently used by actors from the specific sector for the contrast of new arising threats. In addition, the study provides several good practices and recommendations to enhance the fight against this continously evolving crime.
