PARSEC

Parcel and Letter Security for Postal and Express Courier Flows

Funded by European Commission
Starting date October 2022
End date September 2025

The PARSEC (Parcel and Letter Security for Postal and Express Courier Flows) project is funded by the European Commission under the Horizon Programme. The project aims to combat the abuse of postal and express courier flows for criminal and terrorist purposes by developing, configuring, customising and piloting innovative tools, services and security management approaches.

With PARSEC solutions, postal and express operators, customs and police authorities will be better equipped to fight crime and terrorism, provide greater deterrence and ensure secure and uninterrupted postal and express services.

Transcrime will provide its expertise in risk assessment and risk indicators to understand high-risk routes, concealment methods and risk levels of high-volume senders and receivers.

The consortium, coordinated by CBRA Services, will include customs authorities from the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium and Hungary, LEAs from the Netherlands and Leicestershire, postal and express operators from the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy and the UK, research centres such as Transcrime, Cross-border Research Association and the Universities of Lausanne and Delft, four solution providers and the Transport Asset Protection Association.
