01. Predicting burglaries
This research presents a predictive model for burglaries, which is the result of a collaboration between Transcrime and the Ministry of the Interior, Department of Public Security.
On the report the reason why the study of burglaries is relevant, both for Europe and for Italy, is explained. It is also explained how predictive models can help prevent burglaries, with particular attention to the methodology used to commit them. Finally, a predictive model is tested in the cities of Milan, Rome and Bari, formulating hypotheses on the decrease of the phenomenon.
