Mapping the Prostitution of Women from Eastern Europe in the Veneto Region

This report represents the contribution that the Veneto Region, together with the Documentation Centre of the Regional Observatory on Urban Security, has brought to the project WEST – Women East Smuggling Trafficking, which was coordinated by the Region of Emilia-Romagna as part of the Community Initiative Interreg III B CADSES.

The overall aim of this report is to provide qualitative and quantitative elements that permit the piecing together of  the scenarios of both trafficking in human beings and smuggling of migrants with the purpose of sexual exploitation in the Veneto Region in the period 1995-2004 (with a particular attention to the last 2 years of 2000), when the victims are East European women.
