THE INFILTRATION OF ORGANISED CRIME INTO THE REGIONAL ECONOMY

The aim of this project, commissioned by PoliS-Lombardia, was to carry out research and develop indicators to assess the risk of infiltration by organised crime in companies registered in Lombardy.

 

The project involved reviewing existing literature, analysing data on the exposure of companies to the risk of criminal infiltration or corruption, and updating the risk factors to which companies in Lombardy are exposed. The analysis also included an evaluation of the effectiveness of predictive risk indicators by comparing them with the preventive measures adopted by public authorities, including companies subject to anti-mafia interdictions.

 

The final report of the project thus examines the socio-economic context, the criminal context, the risk of criminal infiltration in companies, the mapping of risk factors at company level and the conclusions drawn from these findings.
