Evidence and impact of beneficial ownership transparency

Michele Riccardi and Gaia Michelazzi, during the “2026 Research Symposium on Beneficial Ownership Transparency,” will present Transcrime’s research on “The Opacity of Investments in the Real Estate Sector in Milan” and “The Opacity of Beneficial Owners as an Enabler of Fraud and Crime in Football: An Empirical Investigation of Italian Calcio Leagues”. Event organised by Open Ownership, the World Bank Group’s Beneficial Ownership Transparency Thematic Working Group, and the Centre for the Study of Corruption at the University of Sussex.
