Gianluca Bertoni is a XXXVI cycle Ph.D. candidate of the International Ph.D. programme in Criminology at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan and a researcher at Transcrime since 2019. In his previous experience, he worked at the European Commission (DG JUST) in Brussels within the Economic Analysis and Evaluation Unit.
In March 2019 he received an MSc degree in Economic and Social Sciences from Bocconi University. In November 2016 he received a BSc degree in Economic and Social Sciences from the same university.
His research interests include spatial dynamics of crime, migration flows with a focus on human smuggling and human trafficking, and statistical modelling for crime data.
